Black Pink:
the world’s most successful girl band are using their enormous following to help raise awareness about climate change. In a humble message broadcast on 26 February the BlackPink stars admitted that they too needed to educate themselves and wanted to learn more, inviting their fans on a shared journey of self-education.

They timed their message just months before a major conference on climate change will be held in Britain, to try and increase interest in the issues.

Ilmira Bagrautinova: a renowned ballet dancer for the world-renowned Mariinsky ballet in Russia has braved temperatures of -15C in the Gulf of Finland to raise awareness of the threat to swan nesting sites. The ballerina filmed herself dancing scenes from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake on the frozen waters of Batareinaya Ba, in full costume despite the freezing temperatures. Through the video she hopes to raise support for protests against the construction of a port that would disturb the nesting sites.

Leonardo DiCaprio:

In November 2019 Leonardo DiCaprio posted a photo together with Greta Thunberg on Instagram, singing the school girl’s praises. The image attracted almost 4 million likes within 22 hours of being uploaded.

 The Hollywood star has been consistently outspoken about environmental issues. He made a documentary about environmental issues, called Before The Flood, which premiered in 2016 and has also set up a foundation dedicated to environmental issues.
